About ALGIS

The ALGIS acronym means

“AUTOMATIC LUMBER GRADING AND INSPECTION SYSTEMS”

THE Algis Corporation’s goal is to change the face of lumber grading and processing in sawmills worldwide. Algis’ innovative technology will make mills more efficient, more profitable and will significantly improve the recovery from a shared resource; our timberlands. This revolutionary technology will help in the ‘Greening’ of the industry by saving 6% of the world’s standing timber by eliminating waste and overtrimming.

The Algis Corporation has a strong Management team with many years of experience in the sawmilling industry. A team of talented Developers and Engineers have been assembled in Burnaby, British Columbia and have taken a very innovative approach to automating the process of transverse lumber grading. This approach has led to the development of several products which are totally unique to the industry.

ALGIS is partnered with SharkFin Boardturning Systems which is the forerunner in boardturning technology. Shark Fin is in use in over 150 sawmills and planermills around the world. Existing Shark Fin installations are prime candidates for ALGIS.

The Algis Corporation is currently a privately held company, but is the process of becoming a public company which will be listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
